Meet Jenna
I fell in love with Pilates after struggling with a knee and ankle injury that no other methods were successful in alleviating. I am not a person used to being down, so it was imperative that I found a solution that worked with my life and the ongoing commitment to my future health and mental well-being. Coming back to Pilates ended up being the tipping point that pushed me past the point of stagnation in to the realm of growth again. It was because of this that I decided to become a Pilates instructor, so I could then help other people in similar situations find their own pivot point for themselves.
Fast-forward to the present day, and I’ve found a real connection with helping athletes of all ages improve mobility, increase power, and promote injury prevention using Pilates plus strength training to help achieve their movement goals. I find so much fulfillment in the kind of performance-driven movement that bridges the gap between traditional strength training and Pilates, most recently finding that connection through the Classical methods Vida Sana is known for.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Humboldt State University (now Cal Poly Humboldt), where I started my education with courses in nutrition and the anatomy of the human body. That, paired now with my Balanced Body Pilates Instructor training, decades of experience in fitness, weight training, and more recently highly personalized coaching, means I can and will bring a cohesive, balanced plan to every client session. Whether working one-on-one or in a small group setting, my goal is to create a supportive environment where clients can move better, perform better, and just feel stronger in everyday life!
My husband and I have three amazing kids involved in a multitude of different sports programs. When we aren’t headed to a practice or game, I love anything DIY (projects with power tools welcome!). We also love going to the river, swimming, and anything that means feeling a little sunshine on our faces. We just love living in Humboldt County where we can pop over the hill to snowboard, down the road to sit in the heat by a river, or just across the valley to enjoy a gorgeous sunset on the beach. When I’m not “momming hard” or sweating out my workout sessions in the studio, you can find me reading or listening to audiobooks to pass the time. I’m always up for recommendations on the next TBR! So very thankful to be able to do what I love, where I love!
